Wayne DeCosta
President / CEO

Wayne started his first business at age 20 in Omaha, Nebraska. Having learned to fly while still in high school, Wayne founded and managed a charter flight company that quickly grew and evolved into a substantial airport operation offering aircraft maintenance, parts, flight training, aircraft rental, charter flights, avgas and jet fuel sales, aircraft sales, and corporate aircraft management services.  After operating the aviation business for 21 years, he sold it and joined a friend in Colorado Springs who owned a commercial general contracting business. For the next several years, he immersed himself in the construction business, learning all he could about operating a professional and competent construction contracting firm.

In 2004, he headed out on his own again, this time to start JetCare Management Group, LLC. (The name of the company was changed to Great West Construction, LLC in 2008 to better reflect the nature of the firm’s business operations.) Earning his A-1 Unlimited Building Contractor’s License from the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department, Wayne set about building a company based on experience, integrity, and reliability. These cornerstones of Great West Construction have served the company well in establishing a niche and reputation as a general contractor known for its high-quality workmanship, and strict adherence to budgets and schedules.

With a firm commitment to his faith, an unwavering trust in God, and a desire to operate and act in line with Biblical principles, he is building a business with a clear mission to give back to others and operate in complete integrity.

Wayne’s wife of over twenty-five years, Denise, is co-owner of the company. They have two daughters, Jordan and Taylor.  Jordan is married to Nate Middlebrook, and is Mommy to twins Isaiah and Reverie, son Arlo, and daughter Nova.  Taylor is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University, with a political science degree. While at APU, she was inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society. She is married to her college sweetheart, Dylan Takanishi.    Family interests include travel, spending time with friends, involvement in ministry, and community service. Wayne has an awesome Little Brother, Kurtis, through Big Brothers Big Sisters – Pikes Peak. His personal time is often spent riding motorcycles, following the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and playing basketball.

Jonas Rivera
Superintendent
Great West Start Date:  October 2017

Jonas Rivera is a loving husband and father of two.  As a child he was an “Army Brat”, born in Heidelberg, Germany.  Growing up his family was re-stationed just about every two years, mainly along the east coast of the United States.

Upon graduating high school, Jonas spent the next three years as a Loss Prevention Manager in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.  Just after turning 21 he relocated to Jacksonville Florida, where he met the love of his life as she was in the process of completing her Elementary Education Degree at The University of North Florida.  After his soon-to-be wife completed her degree in 2003, they purchased their first home in Spring Hill, Florida.   Jonas then obtained his Insurance Adjusters License and began a career as a Public Insurance Adjuster.   He represented homeowners and business owners with various insurance claims.  This also sparked his love for construction.  Following the birth of his son Quinten in 2009, Jonas followed his new passion in construction and began remodeling homes as an Independent Contractor.

While on a business trip to Denver, Colorado in 2013, Jonas explored the surrounding areas and fell in love with Colorado Springs.  After witnessing the abundance of construction on his trip, he began discussing relocation plans with his wife, who was pregnant with their second child.  Shortly after the birth of his daughter Zoë, they decided to make the move. In 2015 Jonas and his family settled down in the cozy Stetson Hills neighborhood of Colorado Springs.

At that time he teamed up with a former colleague and family friend, Casey Copley, continuing in the construction industry by launching Remarkable Results, LLP.  In October 2017, after fervent prayer, Jonas joined the Great West Construction Family.

Jonas and his family are active member of Austin Bluffs Community Church.  His life verse is  “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Jonathan Bendickson
Superintendent
Great West Start Date:  December 2017

Jonathan moved to Colorado Springs from Vancouver, British Columbia in the summer of 2016 with his wife Courtney and two sons Carter and Aidan.  A native of beautiful Vancouver Island on the West Coast of Canada, Jonathan grew up with a do-it-yourself attitude that he learned from his father, gaining new building and fix-it skills at every opportunity. He also developed a strong interest in aviation and flying, which he pursued as a career until 2013, when an opportunity led to a transition to the world of construction. Always keen to learn new skill sets, Jonathan dove into this new ambition doing a wide variety of residential renovations.

After moving to Colorado, the combination of his love for aviation and construction experience led to a connection with Great West Construction.  Jonathan’s past experiences also include working as a Printing Press Operator, a Float Plane Dockhand, a Base Manager for a small airline, and a Flight Simulator Technician for a major airline.  Jonathan’s wife Courtney is a Registered Behavior Technician at Alpine Autism Center and is currently working toward a Master’s degree.
